hey "visitor"
I think it's pretty natural to want to be noticed. I think we all desire that in some way.
Thanks for your honesty.

I internally hope i might get noticed for what i do.
Become a celeb in my own little circle. Sad, i know.
Or is it?
Maybe it is simply how god has wired me.
That's what crossed my mind when reading the blog.

"When we forsake the lives of others we actually forsake our own." Very true. What is the value or quality of my life if I spend it only on myself?

Thankfully, there's tons and tons and tons of things we can do from right here in the States. Some of it is completely free, and that you can even do just from your computer. (But hopefully that's not all a person wants to do.) You just gotta figure out what moves your heart. Genocide, sex slavery, fatal but preventable diseases, starvation, the persecuted church-- take your pick, the list is huge.
One excellent research tool to get anyone started: http://www.charitynavigator.org/

A couple of things I personally recommend:
http://www.savedarfur.org
I strongly believe ALL Christians in America should at least KNOW about the genocide in Darfur, as a testimony to the world that we actually care about human suffering.

A Christian organization with top notch ratings on how it spends its funds.

I agree. If we're really seeking after Christ and reading the Word and growing, our hearts are going to be changed and we're going to WANT to take action against this stuff. Just have to remind myself to want that even if it costs me something.

I don't know where the next steps are to pursuing justice for the "least of these" but if we are seeking first the Kingdom of God I'm confident God will guide our steps. Watching these videos completely fires me up to run the race set before me
