We had a great Sunday yesterday.
The Launching Years community group was very gracious to treat us to an amazing lunch in an attempt to get to know us better. They also asked us to fill out cards so that they could be intentionally praying for us, what a gift to have older believers praying for us on a regular basis. I always love any opportunity to make this big church feel smaller and our lunch helped bridge that gap.
A couple of big announcements at CollegeLife last night:
- Easter dinner this Sunday April 5th. 6:30pm
- April 19th- We need some volunteers to serve a dessert to some leaders at Fellowship. You’ll recieve free food, great entertainment, and the chance to serve.
- Work Crew @ Sharp Top Cove May 22-25th! A great weekend to serve our high school ministry and get to know some of your college friends even better.
Contact me jneely@fefc.com if you are interested in any of the above.
Last night at CollegeLife we had a discussion based on meeting our legitimate needs in illegitimate ways. (aka sin) This is a struggle for me, I want to jump ahead, get what I want when I want it! God’s timing is perfect, but sometimes perfection is hard (think of making a diamond). We looked at how Jesus fought these same temptations by being obedient to scripture. You can reread Matthew 4 for a more in depth look at what we talked about.
What about you… Where will you be tempted today? What lie will you think about buying into instead of living in the truth? (I John 1)
